Oshawa Crane Operator Classes - For the operators and the supervisors, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content deals with applicable state, federal and provincial safety regulations. The training's first component consists of complete in-class lessons and test. After that is a hands-on customized session together with practical lessons and evaluation.

The content of the course applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting crane machinery. The instruction would particularly focus on all aspects of crane operation which can be carried out at the workplace of the trainee. Upon completion of the course, individuals training would know how to operate specific overhead lifting equipment, related parts and attachments safely and efficiently.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits which an operator could develop when operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be avoided with correct practices. Training reduces the possibility of a workplace injury or incident taking place.

The length of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of customized, on-site, hands-on training. Participants are graded on their knowledge of training material via written testing and an evaluation of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.

The in-class session, the trainee would know about causes of damages and occurrences, legislation and guidelines, hazard awareness, internal responsibility, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, basic equipment and design principles, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment inspections, types of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, operator/pedestrian safety, hitches and angles, flipping/turning loads safely, hand signals for slingers and operators.

The customized practical training and evaluation session must be pre-scheduled. It would be held at the trainees' facility after completion of the in-class session. The duration of this practical training part is one to two hours. The instructor will train two operators at a time about skills such as right rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.

After finishing both the in-class instruction and the practical training and evaluation, the trainee would be tested via an exam. Every participant will be needed to sign the safety rules. Trainees who are successful will be provided with individual wallet certificates. The company will be given a framed wall certificate.
