Oshawa Zoom Boom Ticket - Zoom Boom Training is designed to train operators on variable reach forklifts. The goals of the training are to impart an understanding of the physics of the machinery, and to be able to outline the operator's responsibilities. This course adheres to North American safety standards for lift trucks. Zoom boom training and certification is obtainable at the company's location or at our site, provided there are a few people training. Certification received upon successful completion is valid for three years.
A telescopic handler (also called a telehandler) is similar in some ways to both a forklift and a crane. It is a helpful machine constructed with a telescopic boom that could extend forwards and lift upwards. Different attachments can be fitted on the end of the boom, such as pallet forks, bucket, lift table or muck grab. It is popular in industry and agriculture settings.
The telehandler is a common used together with fork attachments in order to enable the transporting of loads. Telehandlers have the advantage of being able to reach those inaccessible places which cannot be reached by a standard forklift. Telehandlers are capable of removing loads which are palletized from within a trailer and placing them on places that are high such as rooftops. For some applications, they could be more practical and efficient compared to a crane.
The disadvantage of the telehandler is its unsteadiness when lifting heavier loads. When the boom extends with a load, the unit becomes more and more unstable. Counterweights in the rear help, but don't solve the problem. The lifting capacity quickly decreases when the working radius increases. Some machinery come together with front outriggers that extend the lifting capacity when the equipment is stationary.
