Oshawa Manlift Certification - The Elevated Platforms and Manlifts Certification program helps to provide the needed training on the safe operating procedures, work practice, rules and regulations regarding the daily activities for the operators of this machine. The course has been designed for people who are actively involved in these activities or those who have a basic understanding of this machine.

In the last couple of decades, manlifts and aerial platforms have become a common sight in industrial maintenance applications and on construction job sites. These machines provide an easy way to lift employees close to what must be performed on a stable platform apparatus, enabling staff to perform tasks with greater comfort and safety rather than being perched on top of scaffolding or ladders.

The manlift is like other industrial devices in that they are safe if utilized properly. Because they elevate staff above ground level or floor, accidents can easily occur and this can lead to serious injuries or death for both the operators of the manlift and whoever passerby who might be unlucky enough to be standing below.

Manlifts come in different models. Nearly all fit into 1 or 2 categories: the scissor lift, that is capable of moving up and down and the articulating boom lift, which can move both vertically and horizontally.

Protecting Staff

Right training is essential when it comes to safety matters. A lot of the companies which rent manlifts will provide training at the jobsite. Every worker who would be working on the machine or operating it should receive training in safe operations. It is also essential that only those workers who have received training should be authorized to operate the controls. Operating procedures and communication rules must be clear. Hence, workers on the ground must not operate controls without the knowledge and approval of any employees inside the basket.

The staff that occupy the basket would be required to wear the correct fall protection gear that includes a harness and lanyard. The fall protection connects to the manlift easily. The employee has to ensure that she or he has made whatever adjustments needed to reflect the change in fall distance if there are changes in the height of the work area.

Manlifts should be inspected and tested each day to make certain they are in safe operating condition. Prior to the machine being utilized, whichever defects must be re-inspected and fixed.
